Corvette history: Major styling change with a whole new rear design, new bumpers, and the 1st year for the 4 round taillights. Gone was the chrome vertical bar grille, now an aluminum one... no more shark teeth! 1961 was also the last vette year for optional wide whitewall tires, and also the last chance option to have the cove a contrasting paint color. For the first time exhast pipes ended Under the rear body panel & bumper.
