Corvette history: Brand new body styles, the beginning of the "C2" Corvettes.. The convertible was priced higher, but today a 1963 coupe commands thousands more to purchase. Probably the 1963 coupe, with its rear split-window (only year), is the best known body style recognized by non-Corvette owners. These Corvettes have recessed metal hood louvers, and 1963 marked the beginning for hidden headlights. Now that AM radios became more advanced,  very few 1963's were without one.
