Corvette history:  1966 had a new Turbo-Jet 427 Big Block with either 390 horsepower or 425. It was also the first year that backup lights were standard, and that headrests and shoulder harnesses became available. Tell it from other "mid year" vettes by 3 vertical, non-open side vents (lovre gills). Another quick way to tell 1963 to 1967 Corvettes apart is by their gas cap cover emblems.
