Mod: GMS Mass Airflow Sensor
Purchased from:
Carparts.com
Cost: $316.58 (final cost after 33% first time buyer coupon including shipping: $222.55)
time to install: 10 min
Tools needed: Socket wrench, 5/16" deep well socket or normal socket and small extension.

The Granatelli Motor Sports Mass AirFlow (MAF) Sensor, pictured in black color to the left, is about the simplest performance modification that can be made to the C5. Part #350112 can be purchased from Carparts.com with a list price of $316.58, but can be had, using one of their generous coupons, for as little as 216.58. The unit is designed with the following features as compared to the stock unit:

  • Improved Airflow
  • No electrical modifications
  • less pressure drop
  • Real Calibration of Elements (for proper emissions and performance)
  • Expanded dynamic range
  • simple bolt on design

The last feature is certainly true. Installation steps:

  1. Disconnect the wiring harness attached to the existing MAF sensor.
  2. Using a regular screwdriver or 8mm socket (best choice) loosen the hose clamps that secure the existing unit to the air cleaner assembly and the inlet tube leading to the throttle body. Using a twist and pull motion, separate the parts, and remove the sensor.
  3. Install the new unit by reversing the steps above

That's it, simple and Easy!
